Webster's New World Dictionary defines the word pathfinder as: n.
one who makes a path or way where none had existed, as in an
unknown region, wilderness, etc. Research, for many can seem
like an untamed wilderness. How does one start? Where does one
start? These questions can be quite frustrating.
Hopefully, you will learn these skills
in your language arts and library classes and by doing. You have
been researching since first grade and as you reach middle school,
your task is to fine tune these skills and learn how to formally
present your research following acceptable styles. I developed
these pages to provide you with reinforcement of skills you have
heard in class and may need to review.
The Pathfinders Pages are subdivided into
three (so far) sections, the research process, obtaining books
from the Bergen County Cooperative Library System, and a Civil
War Pathfinder.
